Was a nice trip, despite high water before, they picked out a nice rest for us, the two guides were really great and super friendly

Fantastic experience with a fantastic guide!
- by Bereket BayouI joined the Northern Thailand: Hilltribes & Villages on July 15, 2024. I truly had the most fantastic experience and created the most wonderful memories. As a solo female traveller, I felt completely safe. A huge heartfelt thank you to my guide Tew who was a friend to me for the duration of the week. Sharing all his knowledge, insight, kindness and taking the time to make my experience a great one! Thank you Tew! The trip brought me out of my comfort zone in the best possible ways. The scenery and views from the hiking journey was spectacular! I am so grateful I can say I have travelled to Thailand and grateful to of joined this tour specifically. This tour has given me the confidence and motivation to join another one in the future! From my experience on the Northern Thailand: Hilltribes & Villages, I look forward to returning to Thailand!

Our trip is a customized one. Tour legend is very fast response to all my requests and needs although some are really last minutes. the tour arrangements are perfect. tour guides and drivers are all very helpful, friendly and flexible. my family feels very satisfied and happy with this adventure.
- by Patricia Hillary TanThe first part was 5 star but the last was lacking. We paid for the five star upgrade for 10-day Thailand thru Legend Travel Group. Bangkok and Chiang Mai was fantastic. The private guides and drivers (Ken in BKK; Dare & Air, guide and driver in Chiang Mai) were amazing. They were knowledgeable and tailored our experiences. The hotels were gorgeous and convenient—Valia in BKK and Emperess Premier in Chiang Mai. I would, without hesitation recommend to use Legend for these two cities. The only comment for Chiang Mai would be the Golden Triangle day trip. It was seven hours of driving to see the Myanmar border and the Golden Triangle monument. There was not much else to see or do. The day would best be spent in the fascinating villages around Chiang Mai. The Phuket leg was lacking. Our arrival guide was unprepared and difficult to understand. The transfer driver was involved in a car accident on the way to the hotel. The guide did not check to see if we were ok. After the scene was secured, I asked her to request another car and driver to get us to the hotel. She was not proactive. The hotel was very disappointing. Oceanfront Beach Resort is not what we expected. The balcony looked at power lines and the side of a, not so nice, building. The property was not directly on the water, without direct water access. The beach was a 30 minute shuttle or a 15 minute walk to the first sandy areas. The walk involved narrow paths with heavy traffic. The staff frequently ignored my questions. I asked the Legend coordinator, Mr Danny for help with the room. His response was to pay additional $75/night to upgrade. After poor reception, car accident, and terrible room at a non waterfront resort without a beach, this was unacceptable. Some time later we were provided a different room The new room had a pool view and nice amenities. However, it had a persistent moldy locker room, old gym shoe smell. The toilet consistently had a sewage gas smell. The breakfast was nice, but not enough to rate five star hotel. Note, the local tour company provided a car and driver for an island tour to apologize for the accident. That was a pleasant experience. The Big Buddha is currently closed from a landslide. Phuket, Patong Beach, is not something that I recommend if you are not into the frat party scene. I would rather take the ferry to Phi Phi and stay at a resort there for day long boat water tours. Overall we enjoyed Thailand. The Phuket leg needs a hard look. As several reviews mirror similar issues.

Our VIP organizer and assistant was wonderful. They were very communicative, and answered all the questions that we had throughout the trip. And we had a lot of questions. They were very good at coordinating our personally booked hotels before and after as well, and it was a, seamless transition from one to the other.
- by Thomas NadeauI just got back from the “Marvelous Thailand In 10 Days” private tour, and I have to say, it was incredible From start to finish, everything was so well planned. Our guide was super friendly and shared tons of interesting stories about the places we visited. I loved exploring the bustling streets of Bangkok and then relaxing on the beautiful beaches in Phuket. Each day felt like a new adventure.

great fun and flexible
- by kimeI like the visit to the Grand palace. The Grand Palace is a very huge marvelous structure. It is a majestic building built by different reigns of Thai Kings. Other sightseeing was very nice too, Thailand is different and unique. Especially, food is one of the best experience that I enjoy.

It’s described as being active but it’s not really. I arrived the first day and picked up by Beer who was lovely. The next day we went for a bike tour of the temples which was described as being 20km in the itinery. It’s was actually 2km ish and took 1 hour including temples stops. Then we waited around for an hour to take a boat ride up the river. The next day was white water rafting and a bike ride (this was cancelled as no longer available but they told me this before I arrived). The white water rafting was good. I spoke with the company about the lack of
- by Megan GreerOur guide was amazing on Sunday. She was fluent in English but we also had a great time learning Thai with her while exploring the city. She was fun and engaging. Breakfast was ridiculously epic. The highlight for me was the chat with the monk for over an hour. The elephant sanctuary day had a rough start as when we went to the lobby a different bus came to get us then what we were told for a completely different sanctuary. Naturally we were confused when a different sanctuary was saying we should go with them. We were told Elephant Nature Park and Elephant Jungle Sanctuary was there instead. We went ahead and got in unsure if we were going to the right place. One of our members was too ill to attend the next day for the City tour because he had been soaked from Songkran the entire way to the sanctuary and back. We also got soaked the night before while exploring Chiang Mai. He broke out in a rash all over and had a fever. I personally didn’t have an issue with it, except I was unprepared and had no way to secure my belongings in waterproof bags. My jacket was ruined and stained and electronics damaged. Bamba failed to tell us about this monumental holiday in the city. We couldn’t even get dinner without getting drenched. Again - I would have been all for it if I had come prepared. We did try to explain and come to a solution with Bamba but they refused to offer any type of compensation for his missed City Tour on Sunday. They failed to take responsibility for this piece. His inability to attend was a direct result of their negligence To warn us about Songkran which is a huge city wise festival and should have been knowledge a tour company could provide to foreigners. He would have brought waterproof materials as he has health issues that require protection from situations like this. The elephant sanctuary ended up being a great day but for foreigners expecting a certain pickup. To have someone else show up can be alarming and scary. We did try to contact Bamba over the weekend as well at their designated WhatsApp number and no one even bothered to reply. Being in a foreign country can be unnerving enough and when the tour company fails to respond, it’s so disappointing. We should have just booked everything ourselves as we were left high and dry and no communication all weekend. Friday when we checked in no one even reached out or made an effort to ensure we arrived safely. The hotel they booked us at was also less than acceptable. My room had mold in the bathroom. The hallways were smelly and all the carpets were dirty - walls were not clean. We did mentioned this to them after the tour but they again said we should have told them - but without any response from Them all weekend how was this possible?? We did try. The least you can do is refund our friends UNUSED city tour on Sunday due to your complete negligence to warn us about city conditions. Your lack of communication resulted in his inability to attend. He didn’t “decide not to go” as you stated. He was literally in the bathroom sick and couldn’t leave the hotel. Please take responsibility and do the right thing here.

Guide: Bam was a great guide, friendly and knowledgeable. Had good recommendations on the food and treats we should try. Attractions: Of course there were temples on the itinery and the ones we went to were definitely worth our time for the artwork and/or scenic views (White temple is a must-see). Also a fun boat ride along the Mekong seeing Laos and Myanmar. Lodging: Really nice resorts for both cities: The Rim Resort Chiang Mai on the west side of the Old City (inside the moat) and the Legend Chiang Rai right along the River Kok. Both are a bit far from the night market but it's a cheap cab/tuk tuk ride or a decent walk to walk off the meal. Meals: dinners weren't included but that's actually a positive because it gave us the opportunity to venture out to the local night markets where all the tourists went about.
