Itinerary for 2 week Indonesia trip
- Kuta - Selamat Datang di Bali! That's "Welcome to Bali" in Indonesian, for those who didn't know. Today you will be picked up from Denpasar airport where your group leader will meet you and then take you to our hotel in Kuta.
Keep calm and go to the beach! That's the motto for day two as we head first to the stunning view point that is Uluwatu Temple. Then we drive back up the coastline to Kuta Beach and get the chance to learn to surf with lessons led by our laidback local surf instructors.
- Ubud - Now you've got to know your group, it's time to get accustomed to the culture of Bali. Today we visit the magnificent Tanah Lot temple which is set on a rock formation in the sea before heading to the cultural heart of Bali, Ubud, made popular by the movie Eat Pray Love.
Once we arrive we will stop off to visit the little locals at the Monkey Forest. Set off for some coffee at the local plantation where you can see how the world's most expensive coffee is made (spoiler: you will be very surprised!).
- Gili Trawangan - Let’s explore the islands! We board a boat to the picturesque island of Gili Trawangan and settle into our beachside accommodation before getting on the only mode of transport available on the island (push bike) to cycle around. On our second day in Gili T, we spend the day island-hopping, heading to some of the best snorkelling spots in Indonesia. get the chance to swim with the amazing and majestic sea turtles.
- Kuta, Lombok - This morning we leave Gili T behind us as we head for the second Kuta of the tour; Kuta, Lombok. En route to our accommodation, we get a rare and privileged opportunity to see how the local Sasak tribe of Lombok lives.
We spend the day cruising around the island exploring some of its many beautiful beaches. Practise your surfing skills as you ride the waves and soak up the views, and vast expanses of crystal clear ocean in the final beach paradise of the trip.
- Lovina - It's time to shake the sand from our shoes as we prepare to leave Lombok, and head back to Bali and up north to Lovina. We will get the chance to get up-close and personal with dolphins in the wild from a traditional boat, and then enjoy a spot of snorkelling, as we check out the colourful marine life of Lovina. time to head to Aling Aling waterfall, where there are 4 waterfalls, 3 cliff jumps (5m,10m,15m), and a natural waterslide!

- Jakarta - Selamat datang! Welcome to Indonesia. check out some of Jakarta's interesting museums, such as the Wayang (puppetry), Balai Seni Rupa (fine arts), and maritime museums. Visit a Chinese mansion (Candra Naya) and gain insight into the beautiful Peranakan architecture.
Wander about Fatahillah Square, then explore the religious side of the city at Cathedral Church and Istiqlal Mosque – the largest mosque in Southeast Asia.
- Pangandaran - Travel by train to Purwokerto City (approximately 5.5 hours), then take a private minibus to Pangandaran (approximately 3 hours). Pangandaran is a small fishing village popular with travellers looking for a coastal escape.
Set off on a tour of the local surroundings: villages, cottages, and the impressive Green Canyon. Hop aboard your boat and travel upriver (approximately 30 minutes) through superb jungle scenery, before stopping for a swim in the canyon itself.
- Yogyakarta - Head inland by private minibus (approximately 1 hour) before catching a train to Yogyakarta (approximately 4 hours). This town is one of Southeast Asia's real gems. It's Java's cultural heart and has a great atmosphere.
Rise early to catch the morning light and avoid the crowds at Candi Borobudur – the largest Buddhist structure on earth. This magnificent World Heritage-listed site is set in a tranquil park.
- Seloliman Nature Reserve - Travel by train (approximately 4.5 hours) before transferring on a minivan (approximately 1 hour) to Seloliman Nature Reserve. Meet some of the volunteers working at the Seloliman Environmental Education Centre and eat delicious, locally grown organic produce cooked by their staff.
The centre's accommodation is atmospheric, even with open-air bathrooms built in harmony with the surrounding forest, so take this opportunity to relax.
- Mt Bromo – Your early start today (around 3 am) will be well worth it; trust us. First, drive to a lookout point in jeeps for sunrise over the sea of sand. If the weather is clear, the sunrise over this eerie sea of volcanoes is an unforgettable experience.
Afterwards, descend in your jeep to the sea of sands and climb up to the volcano crater to take a peek inside. The ascent is not too difficult (approximately 45 minutes), but it can be very cold, so don't forget to bring extra layers of clothing.
